What is a facelift?
A facelift (also known as rhytidectomy) is a surgical procedure that smoothens out loose skin on the face and neck, tightens underlying tissues and muscles, and removes excess fat.
What are the benefits?
A facelift can help minimize the signs of aging and enhance self-confidence by making the patient look younger, fresher, and more vibrant.
Who is a good candidate for face lift surgery?
Ideal face lift candidates are those who are seeking improvement for sagging and lax facial and neck skin. They should be physically and psychologically healthy, desiring improvement rather than perfection, and aware of the potential risks.
What about recovery and scarring?
A moderate recovery time can be expected following your facelift. You will need to take it easy and follow our orders carefully following this procedure. Typically, patients are back to their regular routine after only a few weeks. Scarring is minimal with a facelift.
How long will face lift results last?
The results of facelift surgery are long-lasting, typically a decade; however, the natural aging process may cause the skin to sag once again.
Is face lift surgery painful?
Although this procedure is extensive, there is usually very little pain associated with face lift surgery.
Can I be awake during face lift surgery?
If you and your doctor prefer to use a local anesthetic, as opposed to general anesthesia, you can be awake during the procedure. If this is the case, you will not feel any pain and be relaxed while the surgery is taking place.
What is an endoscopic face lift?
This technique is also referred to as the “scarless” face lift. This procedure is best suited for patients who have minimal sagging of the skin and are seeking improvement and a quicker recovery period.
How long before can one resume normal activities after my facelift?
Patients can return back to work in about 10 days, but strenuous activity should be avoided for at least three weeks
